What is a compromise agreement?  A compromise agreement also known as a settlement agreement is a legally binding agreement either during or following the termination of your employment and which brings your employment to an end. It is recognised by statute and it is the only way you can validly "contract out" of your employment law rights.

It is important to appreciate that strict time limits exist in Employment law, meaning that any delay in acting could prevent you taking action all together. If you would like more information, please contact one of our Employment law lawyers to briefly discuss your matter with us for free with no obligation.

How much does it cost?

Your employer should be expected to pay the legal costs between £300 - £500 (plus VAT) depending on the nature and complexity of the case. These fees are likely to cover all legal aspects of a straightforward case. However in more complicated cases your employer may be required to pay upto £2000.We always attempt to cover all our legal fees from your employer instead of you ' our client.

Why should you use MWG?

We have a team of dedicated employment law specialists. We will give you clear advise on the implications of signing a compromise agreement. We will ensure you obtain a sum that represents the stength of your claim

What happens after I sign the agreement?

Once the compromise agreement has been signed by all parties, it usually takes 7-21 days, however sometimes these payments are made through your employer's payroll, on the day that you would normally get paid.
